2010-2011 School Year: If you have not already done so, please re-enroll as soon as possible. This will help us have a better idea of numbers when arranging classrooms and purchasing curriculum.
School Calendars: 2010-2011 school calendars are available in the school office. Also, the supply lists are available in the office or on the school website under the June Newsletter.
Junior and Senior Leadership Retreat: This year from August 18-21 the juniors and seniors will be participating in a Leadership Retreat. Please make sure that your junior or senior is available for these dates as it is a required part of the school year.
Campbell’s Labels, Box Tops for Education, and Best Choice Labels: Please continue to save and bring these in. They are very helpful to our school.
Trash bags: We have trash bags for sale in the school office. 16-(Blue) 55 gallon, super size bags, 25-(Yellow) 39 gallon, large refuse bags, and 65-(White) 15 gallon, tall kitchen bags for $10.00 each.
Garage Sale: On July 29-31, the Class of 2011 will be having a garage sale at the home of the Owen family. The address is 5006 Noland Road, Shawnee, Kansas 66216. Please stop by and support them by purchasing any “treasures” you find.
Sports Section
Soccer Camp: August 2-4, from 5:30-7:30 PM. Meet at Shawnee Mission Christian School. This camp will be run by Jason Ingold, coach of the Camdenton Lakers HS varsity soccer team.
Soccer season: Make plans to come to the very first home game of the season on August 24th, at 4:30 pm. This is the day BEFORE school starts. Practice times are still be determined.
Volleyball: This year we will have both a Jr. High and Varsity team. The Jr. High (exclusively 5th-8th grade) will be coached by Mrs. Marlena Zink with Mrs. Carley assisting. The Varsity (exclusively 9th-12th) will be coached by Mrs. Raquel Carley with Mrs. Zink assisting.
Volleyball summer practices: The Jr. High will be practicing on August 11-13 and August 16-20 from 12:00 to 1:30. The Varsity will be practicing on August 9-13 and August 16-17 from 1:30 to 3:30. Please make sure that your volleyball player comes equipped with good sports shoes, shorts to the knee, a cool t-shirt, and a filled water bottle. IT IS IMPORTANT THAT THEY ARRIVE ON TIME.
Financial Focus
Registration fees: The re-enrollment fee of $25 per student is due at the time of registration. Book fees ($175 for elementary and $190 for Jr/Sr. High) are due in August. The Senior Graduation fee of $35 is due August 1st.
Tuition fees: Tuition fees are based on 10 months, beginning with August and ending in May. Payment is due the 1st day of the month. If paid after the 15th of the month, there will be a late fee of $20 unless you have contacted the office with other arrangements.
Sports fees: The sports fee is $75 per student per sport. The sports fee must be paid before the student can participate in a game.
Important Information
August 17: Jr/Sr. Registration at 7 PM This is a MUST for every family with a Jr. or Sr. High student. On this night the student registers for the courses that they will be taking for the first semester. This information allows the school to acquire the correct curriculum and arrange the schedule to fit with the students’ needs.
August 23: All School Open House at 7 PM Come see the classrooms, meet the staff, meet new classmates, see old friends, and hear important information for the new school year.
August 25: First Day of School This will be a FULL day of school. School begins at 8:15 AM. The door in the school foyer will be unlocked at 8:00 AM. School is dismissed at 3:15 PM. Elementary students should be picked up from the first set of glass doors (church side), while the Jr. and Sr. High will be picked up from the school glass doors. Please pick up your children by 3:30 PM at the latest (unless they are involved in sports or sports practices).
