50th Anniversary Celebration
Shawnee Mission Christian School opened for the 1975-76 school year 50 years ago, which means we just finished our 50th school year! We are hosting a 50th Anniversary Celebration on July 25th, from 10:00AM to 3:00PM at the school, and we would like you to be a part of the celebration. We will start with alumni games on Friday evening (July 24th). This will include 3v3 basketball (men) and volleyball (women). Gather a team and watch for another email soon with sign up information.
FRIDAY SCHEDULE - ALUMNI GAMES: 6:30 Volleyball / 8:00 Basketball
SATURDAY SCHEDULE:
10:00 Opening Ceremony - Video, introductions, trivia, etc.
After the ceremony - Practice for choir song, Fall Fun Fair games, bounce house & slides, snacks, yearbook table, student art displays from National Champions
Silent Auction opens - Gift cards/certificates to restaurants, various themed baskets, sports memorabilia, and more!
11:30 Lunch Opens - $5 for pulled pork sandwiches, baked beans, cheesy corn, salad, and cake
2:30 Closing Ceremony - Door Prizes and Silent Auction items awarded.
This is a free event to attend, and we really want you to come. There will also be opportunities to give financial support to SMCS. If you would like to help with the cost of the Celebration, you can donate using Venmo (@smcschool). If you are a business owner and would like to make a sizeable contribution, we will advertise your business as a sponsor of SMCS.
